Mary Worden, LMFT-Associate

Hello and welcome! I’m excited to share a bit about my journey with you. Growing up in Lubbock, Texas, I’ve always been a proud Red Raider. In 2020, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences and began my career as an Infant and Toddler Teacher at the Child Development and Research Center. It was there that my passion for working with families truly blossomed, and I realized my dream of becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist.

After two fulfilling years at the CDRC, where I had the pleasure of working with college students, infants, toddlers, and their families, I took the next step in my journey. I pursued a Master’s in Couples, Marriage, and Family Therapy at Texas Tech, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience.

Throughout my time in school and with clients, I’ve fallen in love with this work. There’s something incredibly beautiful about witnessing couples and family members take brave steps in the therapy room, learning to connect and support one another in profound ways.

My mission is to create a warm and supportive environment where individuals and relationships can truly flourish. I have a special passion for helping adolescents and their families navigate life’s complexities, and I’m dedicated to fostering healing and strengthening bonds between couples. Using evidence-based practices and personalized strategies, I aim to empower my clients to build healthier relationships, enhance their emotional well-being, and lay the groundwork for the future they envision.

I’m proud to be supervised by Mandy Fair, LMFT-S, as I continue this meaningful work.

Thank you for considering this journey together!

Trista O-Quinn, LMFT

Hi, I’m Trista! Let me give you a little snippet into who I am as a human being. I moved at the age of 13 from Mississippi to a small West Texas Town. In 2017, I began my undergraduate journey in interdisciplinary studies at Texas Tech University (TTU). I stayed in Lubbock to begin my master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at TTU in 2020. Yep, I was in what my program called the “COVID Cohort”. It was an interesting time to say the least. I am married to my lovely husband, Wesley, and we have two beautiful fur babies, Caroline and Luna. My hobbies include trying to keep my plants alive, playing tennis, and escaping to fantasy book worlds.

I have always had a passion for helping others and consider myself a lifetime learner. For a long time, my dream career was to be a Neonatal Physician or a Gynecologist. When I was a kid I would watch those cheesy TLC shows about birth and parenting. It was always interesting to me. While it seems this was still a part of God’s plan for me, He went about it in a different way. I found my passion for counseling when I began working at an inpatient addiction recovery center as a residential aid. I absolutely loved my job because it really put the important things in life into perspective. I saw the magic happen when clients went through the family program. It was amazing to see these people who had not had the recovery light bulb come on until after having family therapy. I knew that I wanted to be a part of this change. To this day, I love working with families and couples whose goal is to rebuild their relationships broken by addiction.

I enjoy working with couples doing marital and pre-marital counseling as well as aiding families in navigating life transitions. My passion, though, is working with couples and/or individuals struggling with infertility issues, the perinatal period, and postpartum mental health. In addition to being a trained Marriage and Family Therapist, I have extensive training from Postpartum Support International as well as EMDR training specifically for this population. I find it is important to tackle these far too common issues as a team. As human beings we are not meant to be alone, it takes a village to thrive in life. I want to be a part of your village so that you can thrive.

Wesley O-Quinn, LMFT-Associate

My name is Wesley. I am a new therapist to the West Texas area but not new to West Texas. I grew up on the high plains of New Mexico where, with open fields and open skies, I found myself an avid runner, stargazer, and dreamer. One of those dreams has turned into my lifelong hobby of flying planes. As a child, I was homeschooled, and after graduating high school, moved to Lubbock in 2016 to pursue higher education. Four years later, I graduated to a world that was shutting down… (plot twist) as an engineer.  I struggled to find work for a time and when I did, it was void of meaning. As I sat in a cubicle 9 hours a day, 5 days a week, I felt trapped and alone, wasting my life.

Around this time, my now wife, Trista, opened my eyes to the field of Couples, Marriage, and Family Therapy (CMFT). I began considering a career shift and pictured a future where I could run my own business, serve others, and be around for my future family. It would be a monumental, terrifying shift in my life, but held the potential to be so much more than just another job. With much consideration, I made the decision to leave engineering and by God’s design a clear path was set forth for me as I was accepted to an outstanding CMFT program at Texas Tech University. The rigorous Master’s program afforded me many opportunities to gain valuable experience as I adjusted and grew into the profession. Working as a therapist has brought about a sense of life-purpose that allows me to use my passion for people to serve others.

Having had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations, presenting problems, and unique settings, I have found my favorite work to be with couples and parents. In my experience, the couple’s relationship holds the most influence in supporting or hindering change and growth and is typically the cornerstone of family dynamics. Similarly, the parental relationship frequently has the most impact on a child’s development and parental interactions can impact the way future generations operate, relate, and connect with others. Working with these dynamics has shown me the importance of these relationships, and my vision is to help heal our society by supporting couples and parents in fostering healthy relationships with their partners, parents, and children. The ability to be a part of your growth journey is a privilege that I do not take lightly, and I will strive to support you in reaching your goals, whatever they may be.

Erin Wilson, LMFT-Associate

Many people come to therapy after experiencing loss…of a loved one, a relationship, a job, a dream. They also tend to come when they are ready to tackle heavy things in their lives, when they realize their unhealthy patterns are holding them back and it’s time to face them. As some point, we hit a wall and realize how we’re functioning in the world is hindering us from going further, growing more and being happy. This is where I can help.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring a compassionate and insightful approach to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate their unique challenge and strengthen their relationships. I’m committed to fostering positive change and personal growth for clients. My experience working with clients at the Texas Tech Family Therapy Clinic and the Texas Tech Student Counseling Center has provided a solid foundation addressing a wide range of relational and emotional concerns.

I’m passionate about helping people discover how family dynamics plays a role in their mental wellness. Using a collaborative and empathetic approach, I integrate experiential, cognitive behavioral and solution focused modalities to tailor interventions that best suit each client’s needs. I believe in the power of building a therapeutic relationship to empower clients in making meaningful changes and achieving their goals.

Doing this work is hard, even when we have friends and family as support. A therapist can partner with you as someone who cares about your growth and happiness and can step back as a 3rd party to hold up the mirror in a loving and compassionate way. I am committed to creating a safe, non-pathologizing space where clients can explore these concerns and work towards healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

You never outgrown your need for help. You can only get so far on your own. If this resonates you are in the right place!

Outside of my practice, I spend my time playing tennis, practicing yoga and consuming as many books as possible.
